Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Platform & Cluster Management to lead the engineering managers and teams responsible for building the management, deployment, and monitoring ecosystems of the Infinia product. This role ensures alignment, scalability, and consistency across the full software and hardware lifecycle of Infinia.

 

The Director will set the technical vision and strategy, guide manager and team development, and drive cross-functional collaboration with product management, QA, DevOps, Support, and hardware engineering. This leader will ensure that Infinia provides a cohesive, reliable, and user-friendly management experience across all supported platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Define and drive the vision for platform and cluster management in alignment with overall Infinia product strategy.
    • Translate business objectives into technical roadmaps for both teams.
    • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Team & Manager Development
    • Provide career development, mentorship, and performance feedback to managers and senior engineers.
    • Scale the organization to meet product and business growth needs.
  • Execution & Delivery
    • Ensure end-to-end delivery of features spanning software deployment, upgrades, hardware and firmware management, monitoring, licensing, security, and APIs/CLIs.
    • Oversee integration and alignment between platform and cluster management entry points.
    • Establish clear ownership boundaries and cross-team collaboration processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with product management to shape requirements and priorities.
    • Coordinate with devops on deployment and infrastructure automation.
    • Work closely with QE to ensure new features meet high quality standards.
    • Collaborate with support and field engineering on customer issues, feedback loops, and product quality.
    • Engage with hardware vendors, certification partners, and cloud providers to ensure ecosystem readiness.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Champion testability, reliability, and security across all deliverables.
    • Drive documentation and publication consistency.
    • Implement metrics, monitoring, and KPIs for engineering execution and product quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or organizations, ideally at the Director level or atleast 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong technical background in distributed systems, platform engineering, storage, or cluster management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing managers and scaling engineering organizations.
  • Experience with software deployment, hardware lifecycle management, monitoring, or orchestration systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills; able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

 

This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.

Interview Process: After submitting your application, one of our recruiters will review your resume. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the interview, you will enter the main process, which can consist of up to four interviews in total:

 

  • Coding assessment: Often in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service (depending on role).
  • Real-time problem-solving: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process in 2-3 weeks at most.
