Job Description

As the Senior Director of Augmented Insights, you will define the future of user interaction in large-scale data systems — replacing traditional UI/UX with AI-driven, insight-first experiences. Your mission: enable users to ask complex questions, explore systems, and receive meaningful, actionable outcomes through AI agents, natural language interfaces, and autonomous insight surfaces.

You will lead a cross-functional team spanning AI, Engineering, and Design to transform user engagement from dashboards and clicks into conversational, contextual, and adaptive intelligence.

This is not a UI/UX role. It’s a redefinition of human-data interaction. You’ll build and scale intelligent systems that proactively surface insights, explain anomalies, recommend actions, and adapt to user intent — augmenting human decision-making at every layer.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Strategy for Insight-Centric Interfaces

  • Define and evangelize a new interaction paradigm: AI-first, intent-driven, and insight-rich.
  • Set the strategic direction for how users interact with the product through agents, prompts, recommendations, and contextual nudges — not menus and widgets.
  • Develop a long-term roadmap for augmenting user intelligence across the platform, from discovery to resolution.

Product & Experience Innovation

  • Partner with Data Engineering, ML, and Platform teams to turn raw signals into real-time insights and intelligent behaviors.
  • Architect interaction patterns for AI agents — including query understanding, response formatting, task chaining, and explanation generation.
  • Leverage GenAI, prompt engineering, and LLM orchestration to create adaptive, context-aware user experiences.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of AI PMs, designers, and applied researchers.
  • Partner with Engineering and AI Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of insight surfaces across the stack.
  • Define KPIs focused on engagement, insight quality, task completion, and user satisfaction.

Customer Empathy & Impact Delivery

  • Work with customer-facing teams to deeply understand pain points, workflows, and decisions that need to be augmented.
  • Co-design experiences with strategic customers that transform how they derive value from data.
  • Represent the voice of the user in shaping intelligent systems that explain, not overwhelm.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years in product, design, or technical leadership roles with a focus on data products, AI, or analytics platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead zero-to-one innovation efforts and drive vision through ambiguity.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, LLMs, conversational systems, and decision intelligence.
  • Experience defining or building interfaces powered by natural language, agents, or proactive insight delivery.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills — from executive vision to technical detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with GenAI ecosystems (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, etc.).
  • Familiarity with information retrieval, vector search, RAG pipelines, and explainable AI.
  • Prior work with large-scale data systems, telemetry platforms, or high-scale observability solutions.
  • Design intuition and user empathy, with a track record of creating intuitive and intelligent interactions.

This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.

Success Metrics – First 30 Days

Strategic Groundwork

  • Deliver a “future of interaction” vision deck outlining agent-based experiences across the product.
  • Audit current user flows, insight surfaces, and friction points — propose first-phase transformations.
  • Identify 2–3 near-term AI agent use cases with clear ROI and impact on user decision-making.

Team & Collaboration

  • Form and align a cross-functional working group with Design, Engineering, and Applied AI.
  • Establish shared metrics for measuring insight value, agent effectiveness, and user outcomes.

Customer Co-Creation

  • Select 1–2 design partner accounts and begin co-developing augmented experiences in real-world environments.

Success Metrics – Beyond 30 Days

  • Engagement lift in AI-powered interfaces vs. traditional UI.
  • Time-to-insight and task-completion rates via agent interactions.
  • Quality of AI explanations, insight relevance, and user trust signals.
  • Strategic influence on company-wide product direction and interaction model.

Join us to redefine how humans interact with data — by replacing dashboards with dialogue, navigation with intelligence, and static views with living insights.

Apply now to lead the future of intelligent user experience — where AI doesn’t just assist the user, it becomes the interface.

DDN

Join our dynamic and driven team, where engineering excellence is at the heart of everything we do. We seek individuals who love to challenge themselves and are fueled by curiosity. Here, you'll have the opportunity to work across various areas of the company, thanks to our flat organizational structure that encourages hands-on involvement and direct contributions to our mission. Leadership is earned by those who take initiative and consistently deliver outstanding results, both in their work ethic and deliverables, making strong prioritization skills essential. Additionally, we value strong communication skills in all our engineers and researchers, as they are crucial for the success of our teams and the company as a whole.

Interview Process: After submitting your application, one of our recruiters will review your resume. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the interview, you will enter the main process, which can consist of up to four interviews in total:

  • Coding assessment: Often in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service (depending on role).
  • Real-time problem-solving: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process in 2-3 weeks at most.
