Job Description

We are currently seeking a Test Engineering Manager located on-site in Chatworth, CA.  

 

Job Summary:

 

The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical knowledge and be experienced in managing complex projects from a diverse group of engineers. You will need to leverage practical means for influencing people without having direct authority. You will participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional and geographically dispersed team, work closely with management and actively participate in recruitment of candidates for technical positions. Lastly, you will need to know when to defer decisions to technical leads.

You will have an established background in managing reliable and complex software, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of test engineers and technicians responsible for validating storage hardware and software solutions.
  • Manage reviews and ensures there is accountability and that the management of projects and stakeholders are in place
  • Accountable for setting goals and timelines to achieve those goals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of the company’s storage products.
  • Allocates and re-allocates resources to projects to ensure their success
  • Manages inter-project dependencies
  • Deep knowledge of current testing and verifying processes of product through the full test cycle
  • Provide direct support to Production System Test Engineers and technicians in troubleshooting of non-conformance products on a daily basis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Product Management, and Operations to define testing requirements and priorities.
  • Establish and maintain test automation frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster their professional growth and technical skills development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize testing methodologies and enhance product quality.
  • Track and report on key metrics related to test coverage, defect density, and release readiness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in storage systems to inform testing strategies.



Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in test engineering with a focus on storage systems, including SAN, NAS, or cloud storage solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, Selenium, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience managing onshore and offshore resources
  • Experience with large scale distributed systems
  • Experience with Continuous Integration

 Pay range $120,000/ yr - $140,000/ yr
