Job Description

We are currently seeking a Technical Training Specialist. 

 

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct training needs analysis with subject matter experts regarding instructional content
  • Design, develop, maintain and deliver classroom training modules and online courses 
  • Design, develop and maintain support of Lab exercises and equipment to support training classes
  • Participate and moderate social media content 
  • Compile test and other evaluations to be used to measure learning and performance as a result of learning initiatives
  • Travel up to 10-15% wth most of the travel will be into the EU with some travel throughout APAC.
  • The job will be focused in both areas, both internal and external facing audiences. For external the audiences will be primarily end user, with some technical partner training likely.
  • This role will be responsible for gathering content from DDN’s technical disciplines (Eng, Support, PS, SE) and generating content partnering with Sr. Manager Technical Education to create the final documentation and flow. The internal audiences will be primarly FLS, L1, L2 and L3, with some trainings likely for PS and SE.
  • Data reporting at appropriate levels as requested
  • This role will be required to connect with all internal and external stakeholders for all training requirements.

Qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical trainer role
  • Experience preferably in a storage company working directly with SMEs and others to perform needs analysis and develop content
  • Storage knowledge, systems knowledge, and networking: GPFS, Lustre, S3, Object, Infiniband and Ethernet
  • Experience developing materials and training users 
  • Technical/functional knowledge and skills with computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Project management skills and a track record of juggling multiple projects 
  • Experience working in a VM based lab environment. Highly preferred ability to manage the VM environment
  • Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent teaching skills/pubic speaking
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Good command of a second language would be a plus (written and spoken)
  • Degree in technical field, preferably Computer Science/Information Technology preferred but not required
