Lead QA Engineer

We are currently seeking a Lead QA Engineer for our RED Storage engineering team who will work on feature test automation development efforts, as well test support functionality.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

• Review acceptance criteria, set up test environments, and develop test strategies and test plans against RED projects.
• Define and develop reviewed project feature test cases into automated tests for execution within CI environment.
• Participate and contribute to code reviews of features and automation framework updates raised in QA team pull requests.
• Coordinate with developers and other test engineers on defects and product issues, providing pertinent data to assist in root cause analysis and verify test and production build changes.
• Partner with DevOps team during the troubleshooting of test related issues found in the CI environment to ensure pipeline availability. Support development & QA team members with analysis of failures in CI pipelines.
• Support appropriate technical meetings/scrums and message progress/status/concerns.
• Review solution requirements from a QA point of view and participate in feature test scoping for input into the development of the product roadmap.
• Work with system architecture/design team to understand future products to ensure test architecture is adequate. Work with developers and test engineers from multiple locations across the globe.
• Participate in process improvements within the local test organization. 

Qualifications for this role are:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in software quality validation preferably within the storage industry
• Minimum of BS or MS; computer engineering, computer science or related technical field.
• Strong grasp and experience in SW test design, execution, automation, and metrics.
• Demonstratable knowledge in software test development and scripting in Python, particularly for Linux/UNIX computing environments.
• Experiences must include some of the following:  traditional NAS storage protocols (e.g. SMB/NFS), work with data storage concepts such as RAID, SCSI, FC, and clustered file systems; designing, developing, executing, and maintaining test cases and procedures; applying QA lifecycle methodologies for white box, black box, functional, combinatorial testing.
• Experiences with testing management tools (i.e. JIRA, Zephyr).
• Experiences with GitHub and Agile software development tools and process are a plus.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills in English.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of and experience in some of the following subjects:

• Experienced with container-based solutions using Kubernetes to orchestrate the deployment, scaling and management of Docker micro services.
• Knowledge of POSIX file systems, databases, object storage and their usages
• Working knowledge of UI test automation tools (i.e. Selenium, Cypress)
