Senior Release Manager

DDN is pioneering world-class enterprise storage solutions and is looking for a self-motivated highly experienced Senior Release Manager.  Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that the team's build, release and DevOps pipelines, processes and incremental software delivery infrastructure is running smoothly and constantly improving.  You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of professionals including development and quality engineers, DevOps engineers and other key stakeholders.  You’ll remove obstacles and champion best practices as a respected member within a highly talented engineering organization.

Responsibilities:

• Drive improvements into our overall DevOps and development processes.
• Ensure efficient creation and packaging of software components while providing timely feedback on software under development.
• Coordinate and be the gatekeeper for branching, the construction of major releases, sustaining releases and versioning surrounding code that get incorporated into these releases.
• Regularly remove roadblocks and collaborate with engineering staff to continuously improve.
• Champion industry standard best practices and pathfinding on new technologies and methodologies to drive efficiency and minimize rework.
• Collaborate with leaders within the engineering organization contributing to next generation scale out storage architectures.
• Develop dashboards to quantify internal processes and productivity inspiring accountability and overall team improvement.
• Work closely with a multi-site agile team in architecture and execution of DDN roadmaps.
• Collaborate with quality engineering representatives on test strategy, test execution and sustainability with a focus on efficiency.
• Employ deep creative thinking and problem solving to minimize errors.
• Utilize deep product knowledge to efficiently remove impediments.
• Provide thought leadership in source code control, DevOps pipelines and engineering efficiency.

 Requirements:

• Strong execution mindset intent on repeated successful delivery
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Deep experience with Linux Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, configuration, and deployment of large systems on premise as well as cloud.
• Experience with cross-site development and working with distributed teams.
• Experience with container-based technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and microservices
• Experience with automated test frameworks
• 5+ years of experience in developing and debugging Golang, Python and C/C++, particularly for Linux/UNIX computing environments.
• 5+ years of experience years of software development experience with file systems, server architectures and/or distributed systems and storage architectures.
• 5+ years of DevOps tools deployment and support (i.e. Jenkins, Git, Gerrit) and issue tracking tools (i.e. JIRA).
• BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent degree/experience.
