    Job Summary:


    DDN is looking for a dynamic, imaginative and enthusiastic Product Manager who wants to make a difference at DDN – the leading provider of solutions for data at scale. Reporting to the SVP of Products, the product manager will manage DDN’s parallel filesystem products and data management solutions at DDN.


    Major responsibilities include collaborating with key stakeholders in the process of defining requirements, product specification and business objectives.  You will participate in supplier contract negotiation and vendor management, contributing to future direction and roadmaps, facilitating and understanding root cause to field escalations involving your product, and overseeing the transfer of product knowledge to the field in the form of presentations, training sessions, documentation and customer engagement. Also included are aspects of technical marketing, in creating decks and documents for the field to communicate our products to customers.


    You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers. You must be able to build up a portfolio of collateral using a wide range of sources: technical documentation, competitive analysis, benchmarking, DDN expertise, etc. 


    Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Manage and drive revenue growth for the EXAScaler, GRIDScaler and DataCycle products.
    • Own the product lifecycle process including creation of requirements and working with engineering on release features and schedules.
    • Manage partnerships with third party vendors that have technology incorporated into DDN products; understand roadmap and communicate DDN requirements.
    • Work with the field on responding to RFPs, closing deals and evangelizing the products.
    • Work with training team and develop material, presentations and competitive analysis.
    • Develop technical focused collateral including whitepapers, demos, powerpoints, and technical how-to guides.
    • Conduct TOI / training on new solutions for field sales / engineering.
    • Occasional Present at conferences and with customers


    Qualifications for this role are:

    • 3+ years of product management experience with prior experience managing HPC storage products. 5+ years of industry experience; prior experience in HPC and/or Analytics markets a plus; prior sales engineer experience a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of parallel and distributed filesystems such as GPFS, Lustre, CEPH
    • Strong communication, written and technical authoring skills.
    • Prior published articles / white papers a plus.
    • Strong experience of TCP/IP networking, NFS/CIFS and general NAS/SAN architecture.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, or equivalent experience required.
    • Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
