    Job Description


    Position Overview and Responsibilities


    DataDirect Networks is seeking a Director, Sales, Europe  Big Data Sales  Candidates must have a proven track record of focusing on delivering the revenue as well as managing a team and growth.


    This position requires end user value add sales approach, managing channel sell through, to build the relationship and share the DDN story. 

    The job involves managing a team with multiple accounts; must be able to demonstrate leadership, ownership and grow the business through their own experience, including previously established relationships. 


    A successful applicant must have strong Industry contacts and a demonstrated success in personally closing business. 


    Ideally, candidates must have experience in markets we serve: 


    • Enterprise Big Data at Large Scale: Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Genomics, Life Sciences, Manufacturing
    • Academia, Government Labs, Government Agencies: Traditional HPC
    • Internet, Web, Cloud, Service Providers


    Key functions and responsibilities include but not limited to:


    • Understand the needs and language of customers’ specific business by developing a solution sales methodology.  Understand their technology infrastructure, strategy and business requirements.
    • Drive new business by leveraging strong partner and customers to gain access to end users.
    • Develop a strategic approach to grow the region in terms of revenue and new accounts.

     Create and maintain a pipeline, hitting and exceeding revenue goals on a quarterly basis.

    • Collaborate with executives, product management and marketing on release requirements and roadmaps for all product lines.
    • Develop and maintain a strong partnership with all DDN staff team members, specifically Sales Engineers and other technical support staff.
    • Leverage internal resources to create successful Proposals and presentations in response to RFP’s and other customer needs.
    • Drive a regional strategy in alignment with DDN corporate strategy.
    • Accurately forecast sales figures and projections.  Consistent communication with VP of Sales Operations is paramount.
    • Required to attend regional trade shows and symposiums to raise DDN’s presence in the industry.
    • Manage customer relations post-sale: include a strategy to close repeat business.

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, high-tech engineering field is preferred) or comparable experience is required.·     

    Experience working with multiple teams, in multiple disciplines, across multiple locations.·     

    Proven ability to find, manage and close business in a highly technical sales environment.·     

    Ability to adapt and be effective in new situations in a highly dynamic environment.·   



    Must have personal references in several of the verticals targeted by DDN: HPC, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Financial Services, Cloud Content, Media, and Government & Digital Security.·     


    This position will involve travel approximately 75% of the time.
