    Job Description

    The position requires a strong mix of business acumen, financial technical skills, relationship management and team leadership.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Controller in a software/high-tech company and will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance including management of day-to-day operations for a multinational environment. Key responsibilities include financial statements and reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory cost accounting and financial planning and analysis. The position will interface with the financial team, functional area leaders and external auditors. Individual will be responsible for the management of regulatory reporting, general and cost accounting, and payroll as well as well as prepare various analyses to support reporting requirements and other ad hoc management reporting projects.

     

    The ideal candidate will a very hands-on, detailed oriented individual with strong leadership skills who drive execution and accountability across the organization. The ability to think strategically across the organization and work with the CFO to prioritize key action items and execute while leveraging existing resources will be critical to success. The Controller will report to the CFO and will work on various financial oriented initiatives.

     

    Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
    • Manage revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP
    • Financial Planning and Analysis to support budgetary and profitability goals
    • Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department.
    • Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and future operations.
    • Coordinates and directs the preparation of consolidated financial statements with footnotes and supporting schedules, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.
    • Ensures all transactions are timely and accurately reported in accordance with US GAAP.
    • Directs accounting for all significant areas requiring accounting judgments and estimates.
    • Assists in preparing financial presentations to Board of Directors, Lenders and Senior Management.

     

     

    Qualifications for this role:

    • CPA/MBA required with a degree in accounting and/or finance
    • Must have strong technical accounting skills and background
    • Successful management experience leading an accounting/financial team
    • Ability to create and manage complex accounting and reporting systems and processes as well as audit procedures and operations
    • Substantial experience in and working knowledge of US GAAP
    • Strong financial analysis, problem solving and team collaboration skills
    • Must have excellent time management and project management skills
    • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work with other members of the finance team and across the organization
    • Must be able to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues
    • Extensive experience in an automated accounting environment
    • 10+ years working in an automated reporting environment in positions of increasing responsibility (i.e., familiarity with FASB, SEC and financial reporting experience)
    • Advanced Excel skills

    Working experience in a multinational business environment
