    DDN’s Infinite Memory Engine (IME) is a scale-out, software-defined, flash storage platform that streamlines the data path for application I/O. IME interfaces directly to applications and secures I/O via a data path that eliminates file system bottlenecks.

    The primary responsibility of the Specialist Platform Engineer will be to perform validation on hardware including existing and new platforms. The IME Platform Engineer will contribute to the team by providing support to Engineering team as well as being an IME subject matter for all IME platforms. This role has a broad set of responsibilities that allow for collaboration across engineering, QA, Support and related teams. The Platform Engineer will be a vital member of the IME Support organization and will contribute in defining requirements for a next generation platform for IME, develop tools and tests to validate IME on all supported platforms, perform IME benchmarks on new and existing platform and perform validation of different hardware components of all IME platforms.



    Job Description

    • Defining a procedure for validating IME on new platforms
    • Perform functional and system level tests on IME platforms
    • Execute I/O benchmarking in support of profiling customer applications
    • Analyzing the results and providing a report on the new platform deployment
    • Create ISO images for releases and update ISO images for latest OS release
    • Manage and validate critical OS patches and perform security & vulnerability updates
    • Deployment of network interface drivers and configuration of ISO
    • Using developed expertise in setup and operation of IME to partner with 3rd party vendors to resolve IME platform issues
    • Keep up vendor changelog for minor hardware changes and perform validation
    • Collaborate with various product teams including Solutions Architecture, QA, and Product Marketing contributing input into requirements, designs, and test planning that drive IME product direction.

    Skills and Experience

    • Strong knowledge of system architecture and Linux fundamentals is a must for this role
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in platforms engineering or hardware platform support
    • Expertise in Linux System Administration and Scripting (shell) is a must for this role
    • Understanding of server installation and management and basic knowledge of High Performance Computing is required to perform day-to-day activities for this role
    • Very good oral and written communication skills
    • The ideal candidate for the IME Platform Engineer will have a background in Computer Engineering with demonstrable understanding and experience of data storage concepts such as RAID, Infiniband and File systems
    • Ability to travel from time to time to participate to DDN’s customers installations when required (less often)
