  • Overview

DDN’s Infinite Memory Engine (IME) is a scale-out, software-defined, flash storage platform that streamlines the data path for application I/O. IME interfaces directly to applications and secures I/O via a data path that eliminates file system bottlenecks.

    Mission

In order to deploy its new IME technology to the end-users, DDN needs to deploy IME on the latest hardware platforms. The objective of the mission is to develop more exhaustive procedures and tools for new platform deployment and validation.

The internship will start with a learning period on the IME burst buffer technology and how it is used in HPC and enterprise environments. With the help of the DDN team, the intern will participate in the infrastructure work at DDN Columbia, MD office assisting the DevOps team to install, configure and maintain the infrastructure to support the Engineering and QA teams. The intern will not only assist with physically setting up the new hardware including reorganizing and re-cabling the existing hardware but will also help develop tools and tests to validate smart installations of the machines including implementation and management of diskless clients.
