Job Description

DataDirect Networks Inc. (DDN) engineering organization is seeking an engineer to fill a software engineering position in the department of Continuation Engineering and Level 3 Engineering Support role based in Pune, India. The prospective candidate must have good analytical, development and debugging abilities. In addition, the candidate must collaborate with other teams and individuals spread around the globe.

Overview

  Software engineer with good development, analytical and debugging skills

• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong C, C++ programming along with scripting for Shell, Perl & Python
• Understanding high speed topologies like SAS, Infiniband, Omnipath, Fibre-optic etc.
• Good exposure to Linux OS and internals along with experience on device drivers

 Requirements/Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience software development and product support
• Software development with strong C, C++ programming and scripting languages like bash scripting, Perl and Python
• Deep & a strong understanding of operating system principles & architecture including the demands of real time systems
• Fluent with Linux internals, kernel level coding & debugging, conversant with GDB and Linux device drivers
• Understand the complexities & challenges in the high speed parallel data transmission including but not limited to SAS, InfiniBand topologies
• Understand, interpret industry standards & protocols, specifications from ISO/IEC, RFCs and be able to translate into software specifications
• Knowledge of storage system file systems and big data challenges is required
• Knowledge of cloud storage, cloud computing, data center operations is desirable
• Exceptional verbal & written English communication skill
• Experience working with cross-functional and remote team
• Demonstrated experience handling technical issues with customer's installation
• Experience and flexibility working across countries and time zone
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Masters is preferred.
