Job Description:

The IME engineering team is growing and the adoption of our Infinity Memory Engine platform is increasing. We are looking for talented people to join our collaborative team and contribute to the ongoing success of our products. The IME DevOps Engineer will contribute to the team by providing IME lab and infrastructure support to the engineering team. The primary job responsibility includes setting up and maintaining all hardware in the lab including but not limited to servers, RAID controllers, switches etc. The DevOps engineer will also be responsible for deployment and administration of Linux operating systems and IME software.


Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Administration of DDN’s internal IME test clusters and parallel file systems including installation of software and hardware, configuration and administration of systems
  • Assist DDN engineers in triaging and debugging of the IME infrastructure issues
  • Assist in development/maintenance of internal tools that support deployment and configuration of the systems
  • Creating and maintaining ISO images, building and installing drivers and file systems such as GPFS or Lustre
  • Write and maintain scripts for process improvement
  • Collaborate with various product teams including Development, QA and Support contributing for process and work flow improvement
  • Setup ad hoc systems for customer testing and/or defect reproduction

Qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum of BS; computer science, computer engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum 2 yrs. experience with parallel file systems, preferably Lustre or GPFS.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Linux architecture and fundamentals including administration and deployment of Linux operating systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of data storage concepts: RAID, SCSI, Infiniband, FC, GPFS and Lustre file systems
  • Experience working with NAS protocols: NFS, CIFS, FTP, HTTP, etc.
  • Proficiency writing complex scripts in a standard scripting language (shell, Python), and some experience in a traditional programming language (C/C++/Java)
  • Proficient knowledge of virtualization technologies and understanding of configuration management concepts
  • Experience of continuous deployment, Jenkins, ansible and docker as well as managing remote hardware highly desired
  • Experience in geographically distributed teams highly desired
  • Experience in the data storage industry is a plus
