    Job Description

    We are currently seeking a Benchmark Engineer - GTS Team.

     

    Job Summary:

     

    The DDN Global Technology Services (GTS) team is looking for a benchmark engineer for its Santa Clara benchmark facility. The succesful candidate will work as part of small worldwide team, and in collaboration with DDN customer, pre-sales engineers, and partners, worldwide on I/O related benchmark task or projects and performance issues encountered in the field.

     

     

    Responsibilities include:   

    • Design compute and storage solutions based on customer requirements for the purposes of analyzing and optimizing DDN complex storage solutions.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to generate exact customer specifications.
    • Create and perform tests based on general and customer specific applications.
    • Analyze results and design changes to optimize cost and performance.
    • Create software to improve the capability to analyze and optimize storage solutions including parallel file systems.
    • Investigate and optimize the performance of GPFS, Lustre and XFS file systems.
    • Maximize the performance of the company’s storage systems.
    • Utilize SLURM and Linux installer (Cobbler) to administer and oversee cluster operational environments.
    • Enhance parallelization and performance through the utilization of OpenMP and OpenMPI.

     

    Qualifications for this role are:   

    • Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Physics, Computer Engineering or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or with Linux/Linux Kernel/Linux files systems.
    •  Performance tuning; HPC applications; and programming languages such as Fortran, C, C++, Perl, Python or similar.
    • Must also have experience with I/O; parallel I/O and parallel file systems; and I/O intensive applications.
